I need to recover data from an opened HDD?
The HDD was skipping but the data was still there… Then it was opened 
by a not so knowledgeable “tech” and now it is more screwed up than before… I have talked to several data recovery companies but they charge $2,500 to $3,500 to recover 300 GB worth of data. PLEASE do not state the obvious, “huh, your data is lost unless you pay” Duh! I know that! I need someone to either guide me into how to fix it or a company that will cost me tops $500.
