Free 1gb Data Recovery
What is the difference between an OS and DATA drive in Windows Vista?
I just bought an eMachines EL1210-09, it is supposed to have 160GB of disk space. There are two drives, OS and DATA, both composed of 66.5GB. I was told by eMachines DATA was for system recovery and shouldn’t use it to store stuff. However it is occupying .1GB (66.4GB of 66.5GB free). Why is so much dedicated to DATA? Should I use DATA?
Thank-you all for your answers, they were of extreme help. By the way, I checked DATA and it says that there are no files in there. but it is still 66.4GB of 66.5GB free. If I had to do a factory default restore, would it delete everything on DATA and OS?
just leave it like that. documents that are saved are automatically saved to to the os drive (so are the programs that are installed).
