How do you instal a custom rom on mytouch 4g and backup your current rom?
I rooted my mytouch 4g, and I wanted to get the Iced Glacier rom, I download the Iced Glacier 1.1 version zip file and put it in my sd card, then I installed rom manager, flash the latest clockworkmod recovery then I went to reboot into recovery mode, here I saw a phone with a red triangle and an exclamation mark, I held down the up volume button and the power button, it opened up a menu with reboot, apply update.zip file, wipe data, wipe cache; there was no such thing as backup current rom which stucked me up, I did it again many time with different options in rom manager and I still got to the same screen. Need help!!! plzz…! If I can’t backup my current stock mytouch 4g rom, I don’t want to install the custom rom because I’ll have to get into my stock rom to be able to get OTA update of GINGERBREAD in the future…!!
I kno what your talkin about, I flashed CM6 to my glacier, but im waiting for his stable version so i can actually use the damn phone. There really should be a option in the rom manager recovery screen, its not clearly listed, but if your sure u went thru all the menus and looked for it, all i can tell you is, your ROM should be updated to gingerbread when it does arrive, youll probably wait longer for 2.3 thru T-Mobile then what you would if you just flash the Gingerbread update to your phone when they release it
