Data Recovery Tools Ubuntu

Is this possible? Please help!?

I was trying to install Linux (Ubuntu) and when I was trying to adjust my hard disk space for it, I did a little experimenting with GParted (partitioning tool) and when I edited the volume label, – *poof* I lost the whole 80 Gb. Now, technically I know that the data is still available on the disk, but cannot be read.

I now have used the first 10 Gb for windows (as before) and last 10 Gb for Linux (again as before) – The 60 Gb in between is left as unallocated space with hopes of data recovery. Is this possible? Are there any tools – Can I get my data back?

on my experience, when you formatted a drive to make it like NTFS, then pop in your linux cd, it would not recognize the drive with the NTFS partiotion, so, when installing different OS, make sure that the drive space ramained unpartitionedwhen trying to install different OS of the other OS would recognize the drive.
