What happened to the memory?
I have HP pavilion dv2000 laptop, i used PC recovery tool to re-install the operating system(Windows Xp home edition).
I had approx. 25gb of songs and pictures in My documents folder b4 i used PC recovery. It was successful. Now i cannot find the songs, when i used PC recovery, it said no data will be lost.
I checked my C drive: total memory: 65Gb, free space:22gb,
But the folders in it constitute of only 19gb. where r my songs and pictures from previous installation? I think the songs and pictures are there in the drive, but i cannot find them.( I also tried with search, but no luck). Atleast let me know how to retrive my memory??
Hi, im assuming you didnt back up anything and you only have one hard drive.
Assuming what you say is correct, the only positive outcome will be that your files are under a different user name, when windows re installs it usually makes a new name.
Click on the Start button, then click on “Run” type or copy and paste this into the box “c:Documents and Settings” press Ok. this will open up the “Documents and Settings” folder, in here will be your names.
Check each folder or search and you may find familar names etc.
