Data Recovery Of Deleted Files From A Sd Card

DON’T LOSE SLEEP OVER LOST DATA – RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE

Oh no!  You’ve pressed the wrong button and accidentally deleted all your photos from your PC.  Well, once you’re done with banging your fist … what now?

Step one is to breathe deeply and relax.  It’s not as bad as it seems.  There’s an excellent chance that you’ll get your precious photos back intact unless the actual medium that they were stored on has been physically damaged.   Data recovery of digital pictures from CDs, DVDs, memory cards etc is one of the most common ‘repair’ jobs. When a photo is deleted from a memory card, it’s actually only the link that is taken away, so the actual data still remains – making data recovery possible.

There are several common reasons that cause damage or loss to photo files including accidental deleting (we’ve all done it!), accidental formatting of the entire memory card, corruption of the memory card or hard drive and errors with the file transfer or interface.  It doesn’t matter what caused the losses (unless it is physical damage or the devices have been overwritten), recovering deleted photos can be done quickly and easily.

So what’s the next step now that you’ve recovered from your (near) heart attack?  Don’t do anything if your images were stored on a rewriteable format ie memory card, CD etc. In other words, don’t write anything more or save anything onto that format until you’ve gone through the process of data recovery of your photos.  Your best bet is to remove the device from the camera, the computer etc and put it out of the way.  If you do save new images onto the card, then the chances are that the ‘lost images’ will be overwritten by new photos, making data recovery impossible.

There are various ways of attempting data recovery, and not all processes use the same technique.  The internet is a good place to start your search as to what the best way forward is for your data recovery.  Most good sites will have full instructions and tutorials on how to go about it, otherwise contact a reputable computer repairs organisation and they will give you good advice on how to proceed.

In the future, always remember:

·         Burn your images onto two separate CDs etc

·         Avoid burning multiple sessions onto the same CD

·         If you’re storing valuable data, remember that rewritable CD-RW media can be corrupted easily by a software crash, so it’s best to use other formats

Your photos are unique, special and irreplaceable.  Obviously, the first prize is to ensure that they can never be lost (ie making multiple copies).  Secondly, contrary to what most people think, photos aren’t lost, they’re merely in hiding for a while!.  In theory, it’s a quick and easy process to recover lost data, Perth computer repair experts say, but it’s always worth making absolutely sure by calling in the professionals.  It was easy to make the first mistake, so you won’t want to make another one!
