Data Recovery Mbr Partition
I have a laptop hard drive that I sent to a DataRecoverCenter. Their budget for the job is around $1000. Help?
The laptop started having a flicker on the screen and little later, the hard drive started making strange noises (like it was switching off, but repeatedly for a few times) then the computer hanged. As the data on the disk is so important I decided to immediately take it to a DataRecoverCenter here where I live (police, courts use them so they are good). The issue is the price. Can I have it solved cheaper, maintaining integrity of my data by trying other alternatives?
Their report is:
MBR (Master Boot Record) failure, as it is damaged, making access to the logical unit of the hard drive impossible.
The unit needs an MBR restructuring, as well as the partition table and file allocation table.
I am far from an expert in data recovery, but is this much more than a “fixmbr”? Could I do this? Or is this the kind of situation where the files all become orphans and a lot of “forensics” has to be undergone?
Any insight is highly appreciated.

connect the Hard disk in another computer..
so that you can access the data from the Hard disk because the MBR is something used to boot the computer..
When you connect the Hard diskl in another WORKING computer, it will become dummy(secondary) and you can access the files.just by double clicking on the MY COMPUTER and it will show up additional partitions…. you can RECOVER all the files … even WINDOWS files… you can also go for the trial ware like (recovermypc software) but try to connect the Hard disk in different computers first..
