Data Recovery On A Unbootable Drive?
I have a unbootable laptop hard drive. Dell sent me a replacement. There is data on the unbootable hard drive I need to access. Is there any way I can do it myself? Dell told me about www.ontrack.co.uk/dell. I am a student and I don’t really want to pay for anything that I can do myself. Is there any way I can connect the new drive and the old drive to the laptop at the same time and recover my data? If I use the Recovery Console on the installation CD, will that work? I have coursework which I need to access. I have a USB port in the back of my laptop. Is there any software I can download? I live in the UK. I have recently found out that the hard drive does not spin. Is there anything I can do? I have to return the hard drive to Dell on Monday.
Unfortunately…..
If the hard drive won’t spin, there really isn’t much out there aside from OnTrack or other data recovery providers to help in recovering data, at least affordably.
On the plus note, OnTrack has a long standing and proven track record. My company has used them before and I would recommend them.
