Data Recovery Lab

What happen to my hard disk partition?
I have a 80 gb hard disk divided into 2 partitions of 60 gb and 20 gb.
My Pentium 4 kept freezing countless times and i have to switch on and off the pc repeatedly.
1. The 20gb partition, after few months, STILL, unfortunately says something like disk not found and ask if i want to format it, is there anyway to recover this partition data?
I am using another good pc now.
2. I intend to keep the 20 gb intact (to send for lab recovery in the future), for the meantime, if i were to format the 60 gb partition and use it as per normal, will it WRITES OVER 20 gb partition’s data ? Is 60 gb reliable for data writing?
Hmm… assuming all applications and drivers are okay, I would assume that it could not read some sectors on the hard drive then went on freeze (countless reread until prompt). You’ve probably got bad sectors or partition offset. If the former, format the 60Gb but if the latter, leave it alone.
Get another hard disk, use a good partition program and copy the partition onto the new hard disk.
There’s load of partition programs out there and some of them are free.
For disk recovery, you have 2 choices. Disk/partition recovery programs or file recovery programs. Some programs have booth choices.
