Data recovery on Iphone 3g by thieves?

I’m planning on selling my Iphone 3G and after I reset/wipe the info off of my phone like the e-mails and account information.

I’ve heard thieves with the right technology can get deleted/old data off of old computers…but is there any way they could snag old data off of an IPHONE?

iPhone’s have been demonstrated to be the least private phone on the market. Each time you press the ‘hold’ button, the phone takes a snapshot of where you were (GPS) and what you were doing (pages you were looking at/apps used). Even if you wipe and reset your phone, this information remains stored on the hard drive. This is true for all other data once stored on your phone. The police have used this technology to capture criminals that used iPhones (so most have gone back to using simple, non-smart phones).

Unfortunately the only way to protect your information is to completely destroy the phone, as you should do when you get rid of a computer, otherwise anyone who knows what they’re doing can all too easily access everything you stored/wrote on the phone (and potentially steal your identity). You’ll need to completely smash it up.

Here’s a clip on how to best do it (just take a hammer and drill to it):
