How can i change the model no in the bios for a Sony laptop? At repair Sony flashed incorrect model no in bios
I sent my Vaio S170P to Sony for replacing a faulty motherboard under warranty. The sent back the system repaired with all the data intact, so i didnt need to do a system restore. When i tried it a few months later, i got an error saying “Recovery CD not for this model”. I checked and found out that Sony had installed the model number of my Vaio in the bios as S170(UC). The recovery Cds don;t work and Sony isnt being of much help either. The system was repaired in the US, and i live in India. Can anyone help me to change the model number in the bios back to my correct model S170P? I updated the bios with the drivers on the Sony website to the latest version and that didn;t help either.
Contact Sony. Since they screwed it up, it’s their responsibility to fix it.
