Will updating the MBR delete everything on my HDD?
Recently i tried to partition a usb stick using paragons partitioner, it said it worked, so i turned of my Windows 7 Acer Laptop to go get lunch, came back, turned it on, and it gives me an error message and tells me to insert the paragon recovery cd, i do so, and other people in forums and the like say that they fixed the problem by updating the MBR, but none of them said what the effects of that are. Once the cd has loaded i click on update mbr, but it comes up with a warning saying am i sure i want to do this.
What i need to know is will updating the mbr have any bad effects, Eg: loosing all my data, needing to reinstall windows etc.
No all it will do is repair the boot file.
