Does this effect my university future?
Okay, I just finished grade 11 and I failed my first class ever! (I knew I should have just taken spare) Anyways, it was grade 12 university English lit. My teacher said we can set up credit recovery when school starts again. I was thinking of dropping 12 U Law for the credit recovery course and then replacing Open Grade Drama with 12 U Geography. So this way I’ll have 12 U Social Skills, 12 U Challenge and Change, Credit Recovery, 12 U History, 12 U Geography, 12 U English, 12 U Writers Craft and 12 U Data Management. I know I’ll be able to pull at least a 75 in each class. The only reason I failed English Lit was because I did not get my assignments in on time (they were done, I never got around to sending them). I’m really worried about my future :S
To be honest with you colleges don’t really look into your high school transcript much, mostly they just want to see that you graduated. Your SAT scores and other higher education preparatory testing matter more. I am 27 now and and have a 3.5 college GPA, I was a slacker in high school though and was at the bottom of my class and I still was accepted into a University. I would encourage you to do your best for your own benefit but I wouldn’t stress about being perfect unless your applying to Ivy League (Harvard, Yale etc…).
