System recovery and restoring data files from original user profiles?
I have an HP Pavillion 1320in Media Center PC. I operated it with two user logins at home and saved a lot of my files on my desktop, My Documents and the C: drive. It crashed last week and I rebooted and used the ” PC Recovery mode” (F10, for those who use the same configuration) – ‘standard recovery’ option. The option promised that NO data files will be lost. I logged in to the factory settings and found my data files under the C: drive. To my horror, I no longer see my previous user profiles or data files on my desktop and ‘My Documents’. I am somehow hopeful that these data files are still in the system (the usage of my hard drive seems to remain unchanged), but I just do not know where. I would appreciate all help.
You could try using a program to try to find any of your lost file. btw deleting things will decrease the amound you can find.
