1 in 6 “stimulus” jobs don’t exist. Why can’t liberals like Obama, reid, and Pelosi do simple math?
A Colorado company said it created 4,231 jobs with the help of President Barack Obama’s economic recovery plan. The real number: fewer than 1,000.
A child care center in Florida said it saved 129 jobs with the help of stimulus money. Instead, it gave pay raises to its existing employees.
Elsewhere in the U.S., some jobs credited to the stimulus program were counted two, three, four or even more times.
The government has overstated by thousands the number of jobs it has created or saved with federal contracts under the president’s $787 billion recovery program, according to an Associated Press review of data released in the program’s first progress report.
In Fridays news two different stimulus-funded job creation reports came out.In the first it was claimed that 650,000 jobs have been created so far.In the next one;only hours later it was then claimed that the number was over one million.It was in that story that I,too,saw the story of the child care center in Florida.The same story also quoted some government hack in Colorado as saying that the stimulus had saved the jobs of several thousand government employees.I wouldn’t call that job creation.
If we are to believe that the Obama plan is working;then why are the unemployment rates not seeing any drop?And why is Congress feeling the need to again extend the benefit period for unemployment compensation?
You asked about simple math.I wonder how the Democratic leadership lost track of 350,00 jobs it was supposed to have created.I also would like to hear from someone who actually had a job “created”for them by this package.
