Data Recovery Bootable Cd Software
A good data recovery cd?
There is the Ultimate Boot CD containing a range of utilities for repairing partitions, boot sectors etc.
Is there such a bootable CD iso file containing good data recovery software for recovering deleted files? You know, to boot the computer from it and point to the drive to be scanned and to the drive to write the recovered files on. If would be much more convenient than running such software from inside an OS.
Because of myriads of sites offering data recovery and not-so-well software I wasn’t able to google it…
There are two choices – a program like Recuva, or one like PhotoRec. You can put either one on a bootable CD, although – unless the OS is damaged – it’s easier to just run them in the OS. (Read the PhotoRec site – it’s a powerful program, but understand what it does and how it does it.)
