Data Recovery Bad Sectors Freeware

Is there a way to repair/recover data on USB key drive?

I have had my share of bad luck with my laptop recently.
My laptop crashed with blue screen. I managed to restore
it using the recovery disk.
However while attempting to get the dell system restore back
using the DSRFIX utility, I accidently corrupted my USB key drive. I was using it as a bootable drive and running dsrfix from there.
I ran MBRFIX on the USB instead of the laptop harddrive and
that left my USB key drive in non-readable state.
I have tried using some freeware data recovery tools but
none helped in recovering the boot sectors. Looks like formatting is the only option left to me.
Any other hopes?

Recuva is free and works great!

“Recuva (pronounced “recover”) is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses!” – Recuva Web Site
