How to recovery data information on my Mac? (ext HD was plugged in to a windows box, now i get nothing)?
I was running my Mac OS from an external hard drive, when i plugged the external HD into a windows machine to share some music files, it asked to initialize, i said OK, then it asked to format, i said Nope. When i plugged it back in my app, it would recognize and needs to be initialized again on my Mac. Question, how do i recover my data? i didn’t format the drive so the data should be there, i’m afraid to initialize because i don’t want to lose the data… any help or software recommendations would be great!

You’re probably hosed…when Windows initialized the drive it probably overwrote the file system headers on the drive. You could potentially try some sort of data recovery software, but in all likelihood, that data is gone.
