Best Data Recovery Company
I need your ethical opinions please!!?
Ok so say there is this man who was working for a data recovery business and the main idea of the company is based on confidentiality. This man is a new tech guy for the company and has to recover data from this man’s computer that he broke. While he was recovering the data he found a file that had pictures and descriptions of a detailed murder that the man had committed. Now being that the company is based on confidentiality he is not supposed to go to the authorities about this. So he goes to his boss and asks him what to do…His boss says to stop snooping and get back to work! What should this man do? In your opinion what would be the best option here?
The person needs to look at the company’s privacy statements, as well as the contract with the company and the client. I suggest he talk to legal aid or a lawyer before making a move.
Morally, the right thing to do is turn the guy in. Legally, however, depending on the contracts involved in this and the privacy statement of the company, the employee can find himself in a lot of legal trouble for repeating the information. It is up to the person to make that decision, but he should make it informed, knowing exactly what he is facing if he breaks confidentiality.
Is he SURE that it is about a real murder and not just a book or something crazy like that?
